Growing Green: Palm Tree Planting Initiative
The “Oru Kodi Panai Nadum Nedum Pani” project aimed to plant millions of palm seeds along the seashores and riverbanks of Tamil Nadu,India but faced challenges in tracking the contributions of volunteers and locations of planted seeds. In collaboration with the Government of TamilNadu and local non profit organizations like Tamil Nadu Volunteers association and Green Nada, we built the Udhavi Panai app that offers a comprehensive solution by enabling volunteers to register for the project, log their activities, and geo-tag the locations where they planted seeds. Volunteers can track their contributions and receive recognition in the form of certificates, encouraging continued participation in future environmental efforts.
Impact:
This app has transformed the way large-scale environmental projects are managed by providing real-time tracking and insights into the progress of the initiative. It helps ensure transparency and accountability, while also giving volunteers a sense of accomplishment and connection to their environmental contributions. The project fosters community involvement and drives awareness of environmental sustainability, with a long-term goal of creating a greener, more resilient ecosystem.
